Stage 1
A) Bring a pan of water to boil, then remove from heat.
B) Holding the handle, dip the tray in the water for approximately 3 seconds. Be very careful here, as over-exposure will melt the tray, but under-exposure will make formation difficult.
C) Remove the tray from the water for approximately 3 seconds.
D) Place the tray in your mouth and mould around your teeth, by pressing firmly on the inside and outside of your teeth with your fingers. Allow the tray to cool while still inside your mouth.
E) Remove the tray. Repeat this process for the lower tray. After forming, the top of the tray can be trimmed to the gum line for a better fit.
Stage 2
A) Brush teeth with baking soda or a good toothpaste, and floss before and after each whitening treatment - this will help reduce sensitivity.
B) Apply gel to the individual tooth wells. Alternatively, using a cotton swab, paint the gel on the visible teeth surfaces only!
C) Insert moulded tray over teeth.
D) Using a clean cotton swab, be sure to remove any gel that comes in contact with gums or soft tissue to prevent irritation.
E) Wear the tray initially for 5 minutes only. Be sure your gums are free from gel to minimize the possibility of irritation. Brush after treatment with baking soda, or a good toothpaste to reduce teeth sensitivity. Refrigerate any unopened syringes for maximum shelf life.
